Are you getting tired of waiting for an all-new Toyota Land Cruiser? Don’t worry, we understand. The current-generation full-size SUV has, after all, been around since forever (2008 if we’re being specific).
Thing is, while we’re all on the verge of throwing our laptops against a wall every time we come across another rumor online, we just can’t help but appreciate the work Toyota puts into keeping people interested in what’s currently available. Earlier this year, the carmaker released the Land Cruiser Sahara Edition in Australia, and now we have the 2020 Heritage Edition in the Middle East.
Granted, this may not exactly be something to write home about, but aesthetically, it is something we consider a proper throwback to the simpler SUVs of old. Outside, you’ll find old-school 17-inch wheels, orange indicators, classic roof rails, and some popping retro decals running across the sides. It also gets fabric seats embossed with special ‘Heritage Edition’ lettering.
That’s about the extent of the changes here, retro-wise, as the 2020 Heritage Edition comes packed with all the niceties and tech you’d expect of a modern SUV: Power steering, power windows, a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity, and crawl control. You’ll also find a built-in air compressor at the rear of the vehicle.
You can get the 2020 Toyota Land Cruiser Heritage edition with either a 4.0-liter V6 engine capable of 271hp at 5,600rpm and 385Nm of torque at 4,400rpm, or a 4.6-liter V8 with 304hp at 5,500rpm and 439Nm at 3,400rpm. These carry 169,900 AED price tag (P2.35 million) and 224,900 AED (P3.1 million) price tags, respectively.
