There is good news for the bikers in Pune. The Pune Municipal Corporation has cleared the execution of an electric-vehicles-for-rent project. The board has also sanctioned the availability of electric charging stations across the city.

If you live in Pune, you will now be able to avail a bike service just at ₹4 per km. The board will execute the project on a pilot basis, and they will add the e-bikes in a phased manner. While the PMC will not have to bear any financial burden for this project, the contractor will be responsible for providing 3,000 to 5,000 e-bikes in phases. The e-bike project that will soon roll out will improve the city’s air quality and provide a feeder service for the Pune metro lines.
