Here at Lake St. Clair Metropark, you’ll find recreational activities for every interest. Whether it’s bird watching, windsurfing, kiteboarding, boating, bicycling or swimming, we’ve got it here on the shores of Lake St. Clair. Come bike, hike, jog or in-line skate on our paved trail or hop out on the water from our marina. Better yet, jump in for a swim in the lake or our Olympic-sized swimming pool, featuring waterslides and a massive spray ground. Got a taste for golf? We’ve got that too. With a Par 3 course, an Adventure golf course to test your putting finesse, and a foot golf course too. Winter brings even more fun, with ice fishing, cross-country skiing and ice skating with friends and family.

The Debug All-Terrain Wheelchair is designed to safely provide wheelchair users or those who would have a harder time walking on the beach with transportation across areas where a conventional wheelchair becomes less manageable such as sandy or rocky beaches. This wheelchair is not to be used in water. It comes with an attachable umbrella and cup holder

The chair is available to rent during summer from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day. Located along the Black Creek, near the North Marsh Boat Launch Area, our accessible fishing pier and observation deck features low railings, benches with back and arm rests, elevated tackle box surface and other amenities that enhance accessibility. The site also has cement pathways leading to the platform, accessible van parking spaces and accessible portable toilet next to the path.
The Debug EZ Roller Floating Surf Wheelchair allows visitors to enjoy dipping your toes in the sand and feeling the spray of the surf. This wheelchair is a breeze to move across the sand directly into the water. It comes with an attachable umbrella and cup holders.
Lake St. Clair Metropark has one Floating Beech Wheelchair available to rent for free, allowing visitors the ability to enjoy the sand and water at the beach. The chair is available to rent during summer from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day. An accessible golf cart is available, when playing a round, at the Lake St. Clair Metropark Par-3 golf course. Reservations can be made by calling the course, (586) 463-4581, a minimum of 24 hours in advance.
A 3.75-mile flat, paved trail leads through the park and connects to the Freedom Trail along Metro Parkway.
Dogs are allowed on the trails, but must be on a 6-foot leash at all times.
We’re adding new accessible picnic tables and grills to several picnic shelters throughout the park system. Work continues on installation of new concrete grill pads and securing picnic tables in arrangements that allow for unobstructed movement around them. Picnic shelter rental information will be updated on our website as changes are made.
Located near the Park Office, this large fenced-in playground has areas for kids ages 2-5 and 5-12. Play features include tot, belt and harness swings, spinners, rockers, slides, climbing structures, a cable net structure and transfer stations. Equipment is on poured-in-place rubber surfacing. Accessible water bottle filling station is available. Shaded seating areas throughout the space.
First ever public transit connection to a Metropark kicks off September 3, 2021. The Huron-Clinton Metroparks and SMART announced the launch of a joint collaboration aimed at promoting health and improving equitable access to parks and recreation. Metropark Express is a pilot transit program in partnership with SMART.  Visitors can take a SMART Flex on-demand service from the Gratiot & 15 Mile bus stop to popular destinations within Lake St. Clair Metropark.

Mobility carts are available for rent at the Park Office on a first-come first-served basis. There is a $20 deposit and a $5 per hour charge for use of a cart.
Shuttle bus service from parking areas to Huron Point picnic area, the wedding gazebo and shore fishing area is available on weekends and is wheelchair accessible. Please verify Covid-19 operating precautions before planning to use this service. 
Exhibits inside the Lake St. Clair Metropark Nature Center include an interactive, audio-capable touchscreen, tactile objects for hands-on learning and sensory stimulation and an accessible exhibit wall featuring tanks with live reptiles, amphibians and fish. New low-pile carpet, lever-style door handles, realistic artwork and reading materials with appropriately sized text and high contrast colors have been installed.

The 1.5-miles of nature trails are comprised of compact gravel substrate with easy curves and very little increase in elevation. These paths cross over two wooden plank bridges and allow access to a ¼ mile long boardwalk and a rustic grassy pathway that is off the main trail. Pets, bicycles, and running on the trail are prohibited.

The pool facility can be accessed from a paved walkway from the parking lot. A ramp path is provided to get onto the pool deck. A portable lift is available to enter the pool. Family, men’s and women’s changing rooms are available for use.
The Squirt Zone Spray Ground located outside of the pool complex can be accessed by paved walkways. All ground spray features and water cannons are accessible and located on poured-in-place rubber surfacing. Many benches and five small shade structures area on the concrete pavement surrounding the facility.  Family, men’s and women’s changing rooms are available for use at the pool complex.
Located at the South Marina, four accessible floating docks area available at the North end of the marina. Accessible picnic tables are available around the marina area.

Lake St. Clair Metropark par-3 golf course has croquet available when the golf course is open. Croquet is played on the putting green area and is the same rate as a round of golf. Mallets and balls are available to rent for $2 per person.
If you are boating to Lake St. Clair, plan on staying in the Marina at one of our transient utility docks or tying up at one of our transient seawall spaces. The Lake St. Clair Metropark Marina can accommodate approximately 265 vessels.

A 600-foot-long sandy beach stretches along Lake St. Clair. A bathhouse is located at the pool complex with changing rooms, heated showers and coin operated lockers.

Spend the day biking our 3-mile paved Hike-Bike Trail featuring panoramic views of Lake St. Clair. Cycle along flat terrain and along the 1,600-foot boardwalk, stopping at the gazebo to take in the beautiful view at Huron Point. Near the park entrance, you’ll find a connection to the Freedom Trail along Metro Parkway for easy access to local suburbs.

Rates 
Eight ramps, located near the North Marina along Black Creek, provide easy access to Lake St. Clair. Personal watercraft, windsurfers and sailboards can enter the water at the Daysail launches located near the golf course. 
A valid Metroparks daily or annual boat pass, in addition to your vehicle pass, is required. If your boat (canoe, kayak or rowboat) is transported into the park inside or on top of your vehicle, you do not have to purchase a Boat Pass. Vehicle entry fees are also required for follow-up vehicles. Annual Boat Passes can be purchased at any Metropark toll booth or online. Celebrate a fresh snowfall by cross-country skiing at Lake St. Clair Metropark. Enjoy 2.5-miles of marked cross-country ski trails that provide captivating vistas while you enjoy outdoor recreation. The relatively flat terrain accommodates beginner and intermediate levels and is fun for all ages. 
Stop by Lake St. Clair Metropark for a tranquil day of fishing. Huron Point offers 1.5-miles of shoreline fishing for bass, walleye, pike and perch. Shoreline fishing is not allowed along the beach or at the marinas from April through October.  
Extend your favorite pastime into the winter season on Lake St. Clair. The area is known for its plentiful pan fish and yellow perch. Anglers may fish on the canals, North Boat Basin and the open waters of the lake. Several bait and tackle shops are located near the entrance to Lake St. Clair Metropark. 
A valid Michigan Fishing License or Sportsperson’s License is required for all anglers age 17 and up.

Experience the up-and-coming game of Foot Golf right here at the Lake St. Clair Metropark par-3 golf course. Foot golf uses the same rules as traditional golf with players trading golf balls and clubs for soccer balls and feet.  
Regulation soccer balls can be rented for $2 each at the starter building. No reservations required.

MAIN TRAIL – .75 MILE
This trail takes you through a grove of cottonwoods, across a small meadows and along the South Marsh. Great for warblers in the spring and fall, nesting swans and geese and beautiful flowers in the spring and summer. A floating accessible dock extends out into the marsh at the North end.
MEADOW LOOP – .5 MILE
This trail meanders through a small meadow where you can observe field plants, flowers and many types of birds.  This is a good place to see insects such as crickets, grasshoppers, butterflies and dragonflies.
MARSH ROADSIDE TRAIL  .5 Mile (1 Mile Round Trip)
This side trail will lead you further into the marsh area to explore the wetland wildlife.
MARSH OBSERVATION DECK
The raised walkway and deck take you into the South Marsh.  Experience great views of the wetland life.
Know before you go: Occasionally woodland trails may be blocked with debris such as fallen tree limbs. Nature trails are not cleared or salted in the winter and may be snow-covered, slippery or muddy. Pets, bicycles and running are not permitted on the nature trails.
Enjoy this favorite pastime outdoors at our outdoor ice hockey rink located in West Playfield at Lake St. Clair Metropark. A comfort station, picnic tables for resting, and a warming station are conveniently located close to the parking lot.

The Nature Center at Lake St. Clair Metropark features displays on wetlands, waterfowl, live animals and the historical use of the area by the French Voyageurs. Park interpreters host nature walks, special events and educational programs. 
A portion of Lake St. Clair Metropark is set aside for the study and enjoyment of nature. Over one-mile of self-guided nature trails teeming with wildlife traverse a freshwater marsh, meadows, and woods.
