Korea Introduces Luxury Express Busses | Be Korea-savvy – The Korea Bizwire

SEJONG, June 17 (Korea Bizwire) – Upgrades have come to Korea’s express buses for the first time in 24 years.
The last time Korea implemented a premium express bus service was in 1992, when vehicles with widened and more comfortable seats were introduced. This luxury upgrade, however, takes things to a whole new level.
First, the number of seats on each bus has been reduced from 28 to 21, and all of them can be reclined to a maximum of 165 degrees. Curtains have been installed between seats for improved privacy, and each seat comes with a table, reading lights, and a USB port.
The best part is the personal monitors that provide movies, music, TV programs, and games, just like the ones on commercial airlines. Monitors also present bus routes, current location, and estimated time of arrival.
The new buses were provided by Hyundai and Kia, and they’ll be commercially available starting September 12.
