Facility to meet rapid growth of higher education sector
Dubai is to get its first ever student ‘halls of residence’ to cater for its growing higher education sector next month.
The ‘Uninest’ residences will be based at Dubailand and will house students from across Dubai’s 26 universities.
More than 120,000 people currently study in the the United Arab Emirates, of which half are located in Dubai alone.
The gender-segregated residences will be linked to the different campuses, including Dubai Academic City, by a shuttle bus.
The rooms will be open for rent from February 1.
GSA Group operations manager Fran Turner said: “We are delighted to be launching Uninest Student Residences in Dubai. Our focus is on providing the ultimate living environment for students to thrive academically as well as enjoy their living experience during their studies.
“By launching the first dedicated student accommodation facility in the Emirate we are aiming to bridge the gap between the current private rental market offering and the under-supply of university campus student housing. For the first time, students studying in Dubai will have access to the dedicated student living experience they would ordinarily access in the United Kingdom and United States.”
