Bus jumping red lights kills three, injures 11 in Abu Dhabi – Emirates 24|7

Three Asian men were killed and 11 others were injured when a passenger mini-bus crashed into a taxi cab after the bus driver jumped the red lights on a busy road in Abu Dhabi, according to traffic police.
The accident took place near Al Saada street in Mushref area in the capital and police blamed the Asian bus driver for jumping the red lights and causing the bloody crash that attracted several ambulances, police and the civil defence.
Two of the bus passengers and one in the taxi died in the mishap while one passenger was seriously hurt, four suffered from medium injuries and six were slightly wounded, police said, quoted by the semi official daily Al Ittihad.
“Preliminary investigation showed that the bus driver caused the accident by driving fast and jumping the red lights,” the paper said, quoting Major Abdullah Al Suwaidi, director of the traffic investigation division.
The paper cited police data showing 65 accidents caused by jumping the red signal occurred in the first quarter of 2012, resulting in six deaths.
